What is VClerk?

VClerk helps you provide video-assisted shopping for your customers.  It consists of a customer widget that sits on your store’s site and a dashboard that connects you to your customers face to face, empowers you to curate your products for them and help them make a purchase they’ll love.

1. Do I need to code anything?

Nope!  VClerk works out of the box. Install and you’re ready to go. You can literally be talking to Shoppers on your site in minutes.

2. How do I add people to my team?

In Store Settings âš™, under Users you can add store representatives to your account.  They’ll get an email invite sent to them. They’ll show up on your User list as soon as you add them.  Click on their name, then Queue and add them to a specific Queue. Click here for detailed guidelines:

3. What happens when more than one customer tries to connect?

We have created a queueing system. That means your store’s site works just like an actual brick and mortar store would, people want help and they get in line. You can see how many people are in your Queue on the dashboard. If you have more than one VClerk (store representative) online, customers in the queue will be distributed to the first VClerk available.

4. What happens if I’m not online?

VClerk works like a regular chat when no one is online. The Shopper can send you messages and you can answer them - either live in the chat or later via e-mail. Once you click ‘go online’ your regular VClerk button will again be visible on your site.

5. How do I get my products into VClerk?

This happens automatically during the installation.  We pull your product list from your CMS every few minutes to keep it up to date. You don’t have to do anything.

6. Do I need a special webcam or other tools?

The most common hardware used with VClerk is a simple laptop with built-in camera and and a microphone.  You don’t even need headphones. If you’re looking for tips on how to make your video calls look good, check out our blog.

7. Does VClerk work with my existing chat function?

We recommend that you turn off your regular chat function when VClerk is live. However, if you choose to keep it on, just place it on the opposite side of the page from VClerk and let your customers decide how they choose to engage with you.
